Sustainability
Sustainability (sus-tane´-uh-bil-it-ee) n. the ability to meet current needs without compromising the ability to meet future needs.
At Venchurs the essence of sustainability is our intention to serve our customers and support our employees into the long-term future. In order to do so, we must focus on three levels of sustainability:
- Economic sustainability
- Strategic sustainability
- Environmental sustainability
Economic sustainability represents our need for profitability -- not just short-term profitability, but profitability based on fair prices to our customers based on efficiencies, technology, and innovation. Maintaining profitability will allow us to continue to invest in people and technologies that will assure our stability and growth in the quality and scope of services we are able to provide to our customers.
Strategic sustainability includes our need to provide services and pursue markets that are ever-changing. Our strategies will also direct our investment in equipment and processes that will increase our efficiency and flexibility. When John Wyatt founded our company he did not envision sophisticated bar code readers or an Internet web portal. Yet these innovations have allowed us to increase the value and cost-effectiveness of our services in this now-global marketplace.
Environmental sustainability is an issue of growing importance, for reasons economic as well as altruistic. And so we are committed to "Green" goals and processes, as well as our dedication to Closed Loop Logistics (including reverse logistics). "Zero-to-Landfill" processes and, of course, pursuit of the three "Rs" of environmental responsibility -- Reduce consumption of energy and other resources, Recycle office products and operational byproducts, and Re-use of office and operational products and byproducts. This can be seen through our Environmental Management System.
